Javin Gordon
First, let me start by welcoming you to our club. I hope that you enjoy your experience here!
I’ll be approaching my third year of Personal Training in January 2018, and I have had so many experiences that have helped me to understand clients and members frustrations.
In those three years of Personal Training, I have worked with numerous female clients who were led to believe that spending hours on the cross trainer and treadmill were the quickest way to lose weight, and that weight training is for bulking. It’s always rewarding to help build a member's confidence and knowledge, whilst teaching them that weight training isn’t as terrifying as it looks and that it can be a much more beneficial and enjoyable type of training to support weight loss.
Another accomplishment came when one of my female clients was able to lose three dress sizes to fit into her size 12 clothes. She had been targeting that clothes size for 20 years, since her child was born. This teaches us that it’s never too late to be successful, to gain the expertise and knowledge, and be able to hit your ideal weight and change your lifestyle for the better.
My final experience I’ll share with you here is helping to overcome common frustrations we all feel of being too tired, lacking motivation, lacking time to train due to work. My client was feeling like she’d never be able to overcome these barriers and fit her lifestyle around the gym. My job was to teach her and other clients that it’s not about fitting your lifestyle around the gym, rather fitting the gym into your lifestyle and that’s how we will overcome these barriers.
If you can relate to any of these frustrations and challenges, then please don’t hesitate to talk to me on the gym floor, send me a text or drop me an email. I would love to be able to help you on your journey.
